Focus Statement:
Science Education fosters students' interest in the natural and physical world which surrounds them.

PURPOSE:

To develop knowledge skills and attitudes in a scientific context
To help students make informed decisions about scientific issues.
To provide insights into the way science is applied and how scientists work in the community.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
The Science Program should provide experiences which help students

to develop knowledge and skills related to the physical, earth and biological sciences
to apply specific theories, principles and ideas to explain and predict events in the natural and physical world
become flexible, curious thinkers with increased respect for evidence and critical reflection
to communicate their scientific understandings using appropriate terms
develop an increasing awareness of science processes, procedures and safe practices.
